Job Details:

Novelis Corporation seeks a Senior Engineer – Stamping and Forming in Kennesaw GA. Complete internal and external customer-focused projects from concept to completion while harmonizing internal findings with external trials to enable increased customer use of aluminum. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Materials/Metallurgical Engineering or a related field or foreign equivalent and five years of progressively responsible experience in a Forming or Formability Engineering role or related occupation. Experience must include forming technologies including roll forming, hydroforming, non-room temperature forming, stamping, and deep drawing; Evaluating customer needs and pivoting when goals or requirements change; Demonstrating experience in sheet metal forming with practical experience with stamping, tooling(materials, coatings, lubricants), press shop, as well as other forming techniques including roll forming and hydro forming; Working with methods to measure and monitor forming operations including circle grid analysis/GOM Argus, digital image correlation/GOM Aramis, temperature probes, and load sensors.; defining, building, running, and analyzing simulations from common CAE software, including Inventor, Catia, Autoform and LS-Dyna; Completing standard mechanical testing (tensile, bending, forming limit curves) and completing interpretation and analysis of results including conversion to inputs for finite element simulations; and Working with aluminum alloy systems and how they are applied to various use scenarios including inner versus outer in auto applications or can body versus can end in beverage can applications. Up to 15% Domestic and international travel required to plants.
