Duties:
Lead a department focused on patient care quality, safety, and satisfaction. Oversee clinical outcomes, patient access, and effective scheduling, while collaborating with leadership to improve service and ensure optimal patient experiences. Manage physician performance, support staff development, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and organizational goals. Responsible for budget development, performance tracking, and strategic planning to align departmental objectives with the broader goals of Beth Israel Lahey Health. Contribute to the hiring, training, and evaluation of staff, foster a collaborative and high-performing environment, and ensure compliance with all organizational policies. Address patient complaints, improve quality and productivity, and promoting a positive work culture while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the organization’s guiding principles.
Requirements:
Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree or D.O. degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited School of Medicine plus three (3) years of experience as a Primary Care Physician or related physician-level occupation working in the diagnosis and treatment of Internal Medicine and Family Medicine conditions and diseases. Specific skills/other requirements - Demonstrated Expertise (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section): Demonstrated expertise (DE) providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting; DE providing appropriate medications, treatments, and health regimens to treat patient health issues; DE collaborating with physician specialists to diagnose patient health conditions and recommend treatment; DE collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure a positive and effective patient experience. Massachusetts Medical License or eligibility for a license.
