Job Description:

Hospital for Special Surgery seeks a Cloud Data Engineer for our New York, NY location to design, implement, and automate data flows on premise and in the cloud. Work with partners and vendors on data integration projects. Design and create data models for new or existing data sources, including clinical data, operation data, patient reported outcome data, digital data, external claim data and other data. Assist in the administration and architecture of the analytics Data Lake in the cloud. Assist in the resolution of production issues and their root cause analysis. Design, implement, secure and QA cost efficient technical solutions in AWS. Deploy solutions in production using analytics and info security DevOps pipeline using the AWS Services Service Catalog. Participate in analytics agile process by defining tasks and tickets in Jira and update their status and defining Sprint tasks. Communicate progress and status with team; identify blockers and solutions; and give input on technical design.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have 3 years of experience with written ETL code in python and SQL. Must have 1 year of experience with all of the following: Utilizing AWS data engineer services including S3, Athena, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Lake Formation, Step Function, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation and SageMaker; Utilizing Big Data Technology Spark, Hadoop Hive and HDFS; and Utilizing Clinical Data Warehouse Caboodle and Caboodle Data Model. Must also be an AWS Certified Solutions Architect.

Salary Offered:  The salary range for this position is $126,000 - $162,500/year.

In addition, this position will be eligible for additional bene?ts consistent with the role. The salary of the ?nalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
