Job Details:

Hospital for Special Surgery seeks Senior SQL Database Administrator in New York, NY to configure and maintain databases and procedures, as well as monitor the health and performance of all HSS databases and database management systems (100+ databases and 20+ enterprise servers). Responsible for full SQL database administration, including scripting, security and troubleshooting. Setup and support Database replication and high-availability solutions, including Always on Clustering and Availability groups, Peer-to-Peer Replication, DB Mirroring, and Log Shipping. Responsible for change management and communication of changes to senior IT management. Create a proactive, self-correcting environment with alerts and notifications customized to the specialized needs of HSS. Optimize systems and ensure quality performance at Operating System (OS) and Database levels. Install and configure SQL server in Azure and AWS cloud. Support SQL server and Aurora database in AWS Cloud. Responsible for performance tuning of stored procedure. Review codes before deployment and suggest changes if necessary. Responsible for the design and implementation of database backup strategy. Partial telecommuting permitted; must be in office 2 days/week minimum and must be available to work nights/weekends for IT maintenance and to troubleshoot down systems.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or related. Must have 5 years of experience with: MS-SQL server database administration in multiple variants for large database environments of 1 TB+; writing and debugging SQL Code, and managing SQL server disk performance; driving optimization through automation and SQL scripting, stored procedures, views, tables, and functions, and adhoc queries; creating technical standards and providing in-depth performance analysis of systems and impact analysis of new requirements in a healthcare environment, including producing & implementing recommendations; assisting in the design of relevant infrastructure; and issuing decisions based on company security protocols; monitoring and maintaining capacity of storage and processing; Microsoft Windows server and server support experience of SSRS Deployment, SSIS Deployment, MDS, DQS and SSAS Deployment; database replication and high availability solutions, including Always-on Clustering and Availability groups, Peer-to-Peer Replication, DB Mirroring, and Log Shipping; communicating change management to senior IT management; partitioning; Performance Tuning; Backups, Restores and Recovery Models; Role based Security Model; Data Protection and Integrity; and Database Capacity Planning. Must have 3 years of experience with an ITIL applied production environment.

Salary Offered: The salary range for this position is $124,000 - $211,000 / year. 

In addition, this position will be eligible for additional bene?ts consistent with the role. The salary of the ?nalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation.
