Opening for the role of “Senior Associate, Platform Engineering”, with Arrowstreet Capital, Limited Partnership (“Arrowstreet” or “ASC”), headquartered at 200 Clarendon Street, 30th Floor, Boston, MA 02116.
Telecommuting benefit (i.e., work from home) available. In an information technology (“IT”) role, the resource must be onsite, working at the above-named employer address and headquarters location, at least one day each week. Apart from this requirement, may telecommute and work remotely from home up to four days a week. Note it is currently permissible, however (due to various regulations and policies), to telecommute and work remotely from home in the following five states: Massachusetts; Rhode Island; New Hampshire; Connecticut; or Vermont. The individual filling this role, that person must therefore live in one of those five states. This is because, again, must work at least one day per week from within and as required to be at Arrowstreet’s Boston office (address given above), with remote work from a state specified allowable the remainder of the time.
This position is a permanent, immediately available, job opportunity that does not require any travel to client or to customer sites. It is a role in “DevOps” engineering and in Python-based software development in a Linux environment, responsible for the management and evolution of state-of-the-art information systems of ASC. Individual specifically will contribute to automation efforts within the firm by performing Infrastructure-as-Code (“IaC”) development using Python, Terraform and Cloud Formation; and by helping to design cloud-native software applications. Core responsibilities performed, within broader field of software design and development, they are as follows: process large-volume data; design, deploy and maintain scalable, highly-available, secure and fault-tolerant information systems on Amazon Web Services (“AWS”); refine, write and build resilient continuous-integration (“CI”) and continuous-delivery (“CD”) pipelines for complete automation, spanning testing coordination and execution, the use of Git, and involving application of vital IaC concepts; revise and propose IT solutions for continuous improvements in cloud-cost management, health checks, and regarding information security, monitoring and control; responsible for configuring and tuning AWS cloud services and specifically EKS; apply knowledge of specific container technologies that include both Docker and Kubernetes; make technical networking contribution; assist other software personnel and engineering teams in addressing technical troubleshooting tasks, performed within different layers of cloud-native software applications; and use other key technologies to perform essential job functions, described above, which include Aurora PostgreSQL, Redis, Prometheus, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail, and IAM.
Full-time position requiring a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in computer science or a related technological discipline (to include computer applications, information technology, information science, information security or assurance, information management, computational management, or management or computer information systems); engineering (to include computer, electronics, electrical, mechanical, or communication engineering, or engineering management); or related field. Also required are three years of experience, all specifically involving the following: (a) configuring and tuning AWS cloud services, with specific exposure to EKS; (b) building CI/CD pipelines on GitLab, Jenkins or the Bitbucket DevOps platform; (c) using container technologies that specifically must include both Docker and also Kubernetes; (d) writing IaC technologies using Python, Terraform and Cloud Formation; (e) performing Python-based software development in the Linux Operating System Environment; and (f) using other technical tools of software design and development that include Aurora PostgreSQL, Git, Redis, Prometheus, Cloudwatch, Cloudtrail and IAM, as well as either (i) OpenSearch or ELK; and also (ii) DynamoDB or MongoDB.
May alternatively qualify with a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in computer science or a related technological discipline (to include computer applications, information technology, information science, information security or assurance, information management, computational management, or management or computer information systems); engineering (to include computer, electronics, electrical, mechanical, or communication engineering, or engineering management); or related field.
